Yesterday (Wednesday) I did Bodypump with a friend. It was a different instructor and she used an old-school Bodypump program. Some of it was evil. I’m sore today.
Today I went to the gym and did 30 minutes on the AMT and 30 minutes doing various yoga inversion practice. Forearm balance, handstand, headstand, tripod headstand and crow.
Yesterday (Wednesday) I went to Bodypump with my friend. I did 15 minutes on the AMT beforehand.
Today I’m a bit sore. My 2 y/o is sick so I did 45 minutes of vinyasa-ish yoga at home, and a 3.5 minute forearm plank.
Today I thought about going to the gym for some AMT, or hitting Bodypump, but a friend invited my kids and I over to her place to swim. We went and ended up staying for a long time. Swimming with two small children almost counts as a workout itself, but I guess it’s more of a mental workout than physical.
She suggested we go for a bike ride. She had two bikes and two bike trailers, so we loaded the kids up and rode for 30 minutes. I did a little over 6 miles. It wasn’t a super long ride, so I tried to find some hard hills to hit so that I was still challenging myself.
I also did my 3.5 minutes of plank and 100 pushups app. Today was the first day that I literally did 100 pushups! Also, regarding the May plank challenge, is everyone doing the yoga plank or forearm plank? I’ve been doing forearm plank. I wonder which is harder.
Tomorrow I really am going to Bodypump.
Yesterday (Tuesday) I did a 30 minute vinyasa flow, my 45 seconds of plank, my 100 Pushups app, and about 30 minutes of handstand practice. I took a video of myself, which is helpful because it’s hard to be aware of where your body is and what it’s doing when you go upside down. I’ve tried to upload it twice, but tumblr isn’t having it. :( That’s actually why this post is delayed.
Today I tried TWICE to get to Bodypump, but wasn’t able to make it either time. I was lucky that my husband got home from out of town early and that it was gorgeous out. I went on a 3 mile run instead. I hadn’t run since April 30 and this run felt off. I couldn’t get my cadence right, I felt like I was leaning forward, my knee hurt, then my heel hurt, then I got a stitch in my side and my rhythm just felt off. It was lame. It was so gorgeous out that I really just wanted to go for an easy, enjoyable run, but it just wasn’t so great. I came home and did 60 seconds of plank, my 100 pushups app and a bit of handstand practice. Calling it a day. Not sure what I’ll do tomorrow.
Yesterday (Thursday) I went to the 7:30 yoga class at my gym. It’s with the instructor who makes his classes different and thought provoking. It was the first yoga class I’ve ever taken where we didn’t do a single downdog. His class is always challenging and interesting though. Afterwards I did my 30 seconds of plank and my 100 pushups app for the day. Inbetween pushup sets, I did headstands and forearm balances.
Today I was soreish from Bodypump and pushups. I have a yoga handstand workshop tomorrow, so I wanted to rest up and be sure that I am 100% for that. I was in a time crunch as well, so I did 25 minutes of fast-paced elliptical, my 30 seconds of planking and my 100 pushups app. I also swept and mopped my entire downstairs, which was a workout in itself!
I’m excited for the Intro to Handstand workshop at the studio tomorrow!
Yesterday (Tuesday) I tried to blog but tumblr was down and wouldn’t let me. I did a 60 minute arm balance yoga routine at home, I downloaded it from yogadownload. I also did my 100 pushups app (first day) and a 20 second forearm plank.
Today I went to Bodypump for the first time in a while. It went well, besides having to leave for a few minutes because the childcare people came and got me and had me change my son’s poopy diaper. Not sure which is worse, lunges or a poopy diaper. Then later this evening I did a 30 second forearm plank (it was supposed to be 25 but I wasn’t paying attention) and the 2nd day of my 100 pushups app.
So I took my pleurisy ridden lungs for a run today. I had hoped to do 4 miles, but I scraped by at 2.75 because I started feeling some discomfort in my lungs. I don’t want to aggravate it, or injure myself, so I went ahead and called it quits. It was still an ok run, but a little disappointing to be so far behind on my monthly challenge. I’m at 23.75 out of 50 and I have 10 more workouts left in the month.
I’m trying to figure out how to do it, but it’ll really depend on my lungs I guess. As of tomorrow, I’ll have 10 days to take it up 26.25 more miles. That’d be 2.65 miles per day, which sounds reasonable, but I have other workouts to do too, trampoline, bodypump, yoga, etc. I will try! I think I can give it a good go, assuming my lungs will play along.
Was that even today? I did it first thing this morning and it feels like it was days ago. Anyway, I went to Bodypump today. I like the Saturday instructor, she’s motivating in a fun way. My body wasn’t so tired today and I was back at my normal weight for everything. It was a good class, I was glad I went.
Tomorrow: trampoline!
Writing this from my phone in bed. I’ve been busy planning a vacation so I haven’t thought about blogging. I have been working out though!
Yesterday (Thursday) I did a three mile run with my local running club, that takes my monthly challenge to 21 miles out of 50.
Today (Friday) I did yoga for the first time in over a week! It felt fantastic. I was able to do running man for the first time, which is always fun.
Will write more soon! Bodypump in the morning.
Got to the gym early, ran a mile on the treadmill, then went to Bodypump. My body must be tired today, I took it easy and still struggled a tiny bit. I can usually do 10lb hand weighs for shoulders, but today I took it down to 5 and it was still a challenge. I sometimes do 10lb weights on each side of the bar for triceps, and I took it down to 7.5 and still struggled. I went down for back today too, but it was too easy. That happens sometimes, I guess.
My Runnin’ Runnin monthly challenge is now at 18 miles out of 50.
