Phew! I can’t believe I remembered it all. I wouldn’t have been able to without checking my foursquare history! But that’s done. I promise to be a better blogger again.
Day 194 (Thursday) I went to the 6 am boxing fitness class in my neighborhood.
Day 195 (Friday) I went to the 6 am all level flow class at the yoga studio.
Day 196 (Saturday) I went on a 17.5 mile bike ride with a local bike club, then later that afternoon we took our new kayak out on the lake and I did some paddling.
Day 197, today, I went to the Deep Stretch class at the yoga studio.
Yesterday (Saturday) I went on my first group bicycle ride. I joined a local bicycling club on their novice ride. It was a 17.5 mile ride at an average 12mph pace. It was fun! The pace and distance was a bit easy for me, but I’ll stick to the novice group for a few more times so I can learn the rules of the road, then move up to the next level. I really need a new bike saddle before I go much farther, the one that’s on my bike now is a minimalistic men’s saddle, and that just doesn’t fly for me. I’m stalking my email because I found the exact bike saddle I want on craigslist, so hopefully that pans out. I’m hoping to make that group ride my new Saturday routine.
Today my friend (and former Trampoline Aerobics instructor) shared her kayak and SUP with me. It was fantastic! For those who don’t know, SUP stands for Stand Up Paddle board. We went out on the lake and got a great core and arm/back/shoulder workout paddling around. It was so peaceful and beautiful. I left dying to buy a SUP and kayak. I actually went to Dick’s afterwards to check them out and found out that the Dick’s in San Antonio had a couple SUP boards clearanced out to $150! My awesome mom and dad drove down to pick them up and now my sister and I are proud new SUP owners. They’re pretty basic models, but it’s not like we’re gonna be riding waves or racing, and you can’t beat the price! It’ll be a few weeks before I can drive down and get mine, but yay! I’m still considering getting a kayak too. Dick’s has them for $180, and they even sell a little floaty boat thing to tow the kids behind us. We live a mile from a lake, it’s about time we use it!
I haven’t updated in a few days. You’ll see why in my next post.
My 4y/o was sick all day, so I stayed home with him and couldn’t work out until my husband got home that evening. I had signed up for the 4th of July 5k that ran through my neighborhood, so on Monday, day 184, I ran the 5k route to practice. I run in my neighborhood all the time, but had never run that exact route. It went just fine. I stopped at one point to help a teenager who had fallen off her bike and couldn’t put the chain back on. After my run, my tummy hurt a little.
Yesterday (Friday) I did 30 minutes of elliptical intervals. I had a super busy day and ended up not feeling well, but thankfully I got my workout in before I started feeling too bad.
Today I’m doing better. This morning I rode my bike 7 miles to the yoga studio, then did the all level flow class. I LOVED it and hope to be able to ride to the studio more often on weekends.
Tomorrow is a super exciting day in move365-land. Can anyone guess why?
Yesterday (Wednesday) I took my new road bike out for its first real trial. I rode about 9 miles in about 50 minutes. It was fun. And hot, about 100 degrees. I could feel the heat fatigue me and I stopped for water breaks at a few stop lights.
Today I ran a 5k on the treadmill at the gym. I’m running a race on the 4th, so I thought I’d better get a few runs in beforehand.
Yesterday (Saturday) I went on a 30 minute bike ride on the trail.
Today I went to a pilates class at the gym. I had only ever taken one other pilates class before. Pilates is weird.
After pilates I went and bought a road bike. It’s my first road bike. It’s a Trek 1.1, which is a nice entry level road bike. Definitely a step up from my Wal-Mart Schwinn. It’s also a lot different and will take some getting used to.
I rode it to and from the grocery store. They didn’t have a bike rack! I’m looking forward to more rides on it again soon.
Sorry for the lack of posts, I had parents in town, I’m fighting off a cold, and today we were celebrating Father’s Day with some friends. I’m still movin’ though!!
Thursday, day 166, I did the flow class at my local studio. It was really good. I’m loving the depth that they go in to during a studio practice versus at the gym.
Friday, day 167, my parents were in town. I squeezed in a six mile bike ride during the heat of the Texas day. It was sweaty. My throat was tickley that night. A sign of the cough to come.
Saturday, day 168, I woke up with a pretty bad cough. I intended on going to the flow class at the studio, but didn’t want to strain my body or bother the rest of the class with my hacking. I decided to take it easy and went to the gym for 30 minutes on the AMT. Took two Motrin PM that night.
Today (Sunday), day 169, I intended on going to the Deep Stretch class at the studio. Because of the aforementioned Motrin PM, I woke up at 10:15. Class started at 10:30. Fail. So I went to the gym to do some AMT. After 15 minutes on a decently challenging resistance, I was coughing every few seconds. I got off and headed over for 30 minutes of walking on the treadmill. I did 6 incline and 3.1 pace.
Tomorrow I intend to go to yoga again, this time my fav. instructor at the gym. We’ll see if I make it. I’m skipping the Motrin tonight.
Monday I went to my favorite yoga instructor’s class. She focused on the spine, backbends galore!
Yesterday/Tuesday I woke up early and went to 6am yoga at the studio. Lots of crescent lunge/warrior 3 work. The instructor was fun and playful. I also learned a new pose, toppling tree.
Today I went for a ten mile bike ride.
