Dinner. Spinach and baby arugula salad with crimini mushrooms, red onions, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds and bacon. I fried up some tostones (plantains) in the bacon grease. Then I may have deglazed the pan with balsamic vinegar and poured it over the salad… The spinach, arugula and mushrooms were all local, from my greenling delivery yesterday.
Brunch. We went to a local bar/restaurant’s Sunday brunch. I ordered the challah French toast. The menu didn’t mention that it was DEEP FRIED! My 2 y/o literally ate every single one of the berries. It came with 3 slices of “toast”, this photo was taken after my kids got in to it. They ate two slices, I had one. I didn’t want any more than that! I would have chosen something else if I had known it was fried. I ordered the kids a scrambled egg but ended up eating most of that. My husband got waffles with bacon, apples and brie. Rich! And because they had a killer beer selection, I had to try their Avery Brabant barrel aged wild ale.
