On Monday, my 2 y/o got in trouble at the gym childcare. He hit a younger kid with a block, and refused to sit in time out. (We don’t do time out, so he had no idea what they were doing to him). They never paged me, just told me at the end of my workout. They said he can’t come back there for two weeks. :( He’s just barely 2, 26 months. Maybe it’s because he’s my son, but I feel like if they stepped up the supervision and redirected him rather than sitting at the desk chatting, it wouldn’t have been an issue. Sigh, I dunno.
So then today, I had both my kids in the childcare at a different gym location. After my elliptical, I asked how they did. They said my 4 y/o was rude to them and my 2 y/o wouldn’t stop climbing in to this little circle of foam blocks that apparently enclosed an (unseen to me) special needs child. I reminded them that the 2 y/o was just barely two and wouldn’t understand special needs or why he couldn’t climb on the fun blocks. My 4 y/o and I had a talk about respect on the way home.
Gah! It was around 5:00, I suppose I have gone earlier in the day for optimal kid moods. Please guys, I need to be able to work out during the day and for that I need gym childcare! I’ll have to remember to talk to them both right before we go in to childcare. What if they say we can’t come back anymore? Are my kids that bad?!
Well that’s odd that...you that your kids are not allowed back, or
