I woke up early this morning to make it to the 8:30 Bodypump class. I normally run on Saturdays, but it was less than 30 degrees today, and I have zero desire to run for an hour on the treadmill. I walked in to the gym at 8:29, and Bodypump was full. I should have seen that coming, it’s a Saturday morning and everyone is home and wants to get their workout out of the way early. I did too. Next time I’ll show up earlier.
Initially I was crestfallen, but I was already in workout mode, and I was at a gym, so things really weren’t that bad. I got on the AMT (adaptive motion trainer) for 30 minutes. I did the weight loss mode and put it up to resistance 10. I thought that was my normal resistance level, but I’m second guessing that now. I normally do 60 minutes on the AMT, but today it was all I could do to get 30. I worked it out, but I don’t think I could have kept it up for 60 minutes at that resistance.
After 30 sweaty minutes on the AMT, I went over to the mats and did some yoga strengthening work. Side plank (and practiced lifting one leg!), down dog where you bring your knee to your triceps/chest, holding plank and dolphin, leg lifts, tricep push-ups (I did one regular one, 10 on my knees), etc. I finished with crow just for fun.
But, speaking of working out, my clothes are fitting better! Last Saturday, I tried on my “jeggings” while I was getting ready to go out on the town with some girlfriends. They went on and buttoned/zipped, but the muffintop wasn’t pretty. I tried them again today and they looked much better! Like, acceptable to be worn out in public! Sweeeet. Jeggings! Although after my dinner this evening, they might not fit tomorrow!
